A Visit to the National Gallery, London
221B Baker Street, London
THE SHERLOCK HOLMES MUSEUM

| A step back in time to see where and how Holmes and Watson 'lived' |
According to the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor John H. Watson lived at 221b Baker Street between 1881-1904. The 1st floor study overlooking Baker Street is still faithfully maintained for posterity as it was kept in Victorian Times.

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?
"You will not apply my precept," he said, shaking his head. "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth? We know that he did not come through the door, the window, or the chimney. We also know that he could not have been concealed in the room, as there is no concealment possible. When, then, did he come?"

Contextual Influences in Art & Design (Unit 5)
From 7/1/13 -Started to research artists who's work I saw at Manchester Art Gallery in The First Cut Exhibition.
I then researched my research to make certain I had enough information about them to create my essay and sketchbook.

Selected 2 images of what I liked or thought about them and why I think their art work is brilliant.
Started mind maps for each artist in my sketchbook and compared the artists' work with each other

B & Q - You Can Do It Class
As it's important to understand how to use tools, especially power tools, correctly, when doing art projects . I enrolled myself on an Introduction to Power Tools course to give me the confidence to correctly use power tools. It was a fun experience and I would certainly do it again. For my first class I designed and made a shield.
What I achieved with making this shield was learning how to use the power/basic tools, and then create something afterwards. I learnt what each power tool did and the health and safety rules for them. I found some of the tools interesting, but I was also very nervous in using those tools that could take your fingers/hand off in a split second - but I did it. I used every single tool available to create this shield. Beforehand, I had a go at making a couple of samples using each tool and learning how to use them properly.

We then made our way to the Gallery only to find that it was not open today!
We had a look through the bars on the windows and managed to take a few photographs of the displays.

The street art continued all the way to the Koffee Pot where we had a beverage whilst discussing the next location we had to visit (The Richard Goodall Gallery).
