Visit to Spode

This was my classes second visit to the Spode Factory and it was freezing!!

''The oldest English pottery company operating on the same site, since 1770, and the birthplace of fine bone china, Spode offers regular factory tours lasting about 1 1/2 hours and connoisseur tours lasting 2 1/2 hours. In the Craft Centre, visitors can see demonstrations of engraving, lithography, hand painting, printing, and clay casting''.

I enjoyed making a chair sculpture from debris that we found and threw onto the chair.
We wanted to create something  amazing and creative and I think we did a very good job!

Staffordshire University Open Day - Part 2

My second visit to Staffordshire University, Stoke Campus.

On this open day I went for another visit to the Graphic Design and Illustration classrooms, followed by a tour of the University's Photography studios, and a more detailed talk about the Photography course. I managed to 'squeeze' another visit to the Squeeze Box during the day-mmmm!!

Staffordshire University Open Day - Part 1

My first visit to Staffordshire University, Stoke Campus.

I had a lovely tour of the campus, then went to the Film Theatre for a talk about all the Art & Design courses the University offers. As I wanted to pursue Visual Communication as my specialism, for this open day, I opted to visit the Graphic Design and Illustration classrooms, followed by a tour of the University's library.

No day is complete without a nice drink and a snack and a visit to the University's on site 'Squeeze Box' cafe was a perfect end to the day. They serve a lovely hot chocolate and ham & cheese panini. Well worth a visit!  http://www.staffsunion.com/ents/squeezebox/
